THE SKIN TUMOR
The removal of skin tumors or "tumors", i.e. benign or malignant new growths of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, is one of the regular procedures in our practice. Due to Dr. Pantlen's many years of work at the Hornheide Clinic, a specialist clinic for skin and facial diseases in Münster, whose associated skin tumor center is one of the most important interdisciplinary centers for the treatment of skin tumors in Germany, we have sufficient experience to be able to offer more complex treatments.
We work closely with the referring dermatologists. The costs are usually covered by the health insurance company. The tissue we remove is sent for histological examination and, of course, we will inform the referring doctor, usually the dermatologist, about it once we have received the results.
The spectrum of treatment ranges from simple surgical removal to complex, reconstructive procedures such as local flaps (skin displacements), split-thickness or full-thickness skin transplants (skin transplantations), and even microsurgical tissue replacement.
