SCAR TREATMENT
There are many different reasons for visible scars, and they bring back unpleasant memories for the patients affected. Although scars cannot be undone or completely removed, plastic surgery offers various options for scar correction in order to achieve a significant improvement and thus contribute to improving the quality of life. In addition to using special care products and scar plasters, we can optimize the appearance of the scar using plastic surgery techniques.
Scar corrections are usually performed in the following cases:
- bulging, itchy scars (so-called keloids),
- raised, reddened scars (hypertrophic scars) and burn scars.
Generally, scars mature over a longer period of time (up to 2 years), so corrections only make sense once the scar has healed. The following conservative methods are available for scar optimization:
- grinding therapy (dermabrasion),
- cortisone injections,
- Medical Needling and
- injections with hyaluronic acid preparations or autologous fat
